Adventure race at Ft. Leavenworth. I paused my fenix at the kayak, where I waited quite a while, the paintball area, again a wait, but I did well here, and the compass test, which was hard. So this is a reflection of how much time I was moving. Mostly walking, a bit of slogging. At control 8, I went all the way around into the area, and all the way around to get back. Coming back to go to the next control, I saw several groups going though a door into the area. This would probably have saved me 10 minutes, because I had to go up and back down several steep staircases. Then, the one navigational error at 2--I went down the steep and rocky staircase, but it wasn't there. After the paintball area, I went back up the road, and punched it. Maybe five minutes here. Otherwise, very straightforward. I felt great, but hungry, when finished. Overcast, with on and off rain sprinkles.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:115 max:200 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

Toughest workout this week. The spike came at the first round. We did three minutes of jump roping, with 50 regular, then 10 criss-cross and repeat. The criss-cross feet and Ali shuffles always seem to get my heart rate up.

After recycling, we went on the Riverfront Trail. I let Elray do lots of sniffing on the way out, and not so much on the way back.

Yoga 1:00:00 [1]

I went to a new class today. The FAC--Friday Asana Club. Similar to Tuesdays, but it included a bunch of sun salutations. We had 60's music, and I am still channeling Janis Joplin in my head. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to do this stuff, but it was ok, except for balancing on one foot during the standing pigeon.

I'm improving on my skipping and gorilla jumps. Jumping in general. A good one today, then off to a massage. Feeling good.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:86 max:112

Lifting weights while balanced on one foot, some of the time on two balance cushions. My agility exercises were done with tethers, to increase power. Not too aerobic, but a good one with some heavier weights.

Lots of core work. I did the CHOW today. 125 side kicks, but it wasn't as vigorous as usual.

Not good to miss two days in a row, especially since the weather is good and a lot of rain is coming, but I follow doctor's orders, and can't drive today anyway.
