Orienteering 47:33 [2] * 2.73 km (17:25 / km) +47m 16:02 / km

I was working registration at the start today at Burr Oak Woods, when my granddaughter Patience, and one of great-granddaughters, Owyn, showed up. Her sister, Greta went to a birthday party. So the three of us did the short course. Their only experience with O was doing the O'Bunny at Easter at my house, which both girls considered to be the best egg hunt ever. Owyn got to wear the e-punch and hold the map. We stopped frequently so I could point out features on the map and let them make route choices. After thin mint cookies and hot chocolate at the finish, we went to the Nature Center and walked around inside and outside. Owyn brought the map and we found locations on the nature walk. After I picked up the cash box and registrations, we went to lunch. Lots of fun, and hoping they come back to another meet.

Dog Walking 32:00 [4]
ahr:112 max:136 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

Some new and interesting moves. We used sliders for mountain climbers, jacks, and ab tucks on 6. That was tough. I did a lot of jumping today.

Riverfront trail from parking to the road and return. A bit chilly.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:120 max:204 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

A hard workout, but the HR data is insane. I'll check it with my fenix. We started out jumping rope, which really got me going, but I spent most of the time in yellow, with about equal amounts of red and green. Wow!

Dog Walking 35:01 [2] 2.42 km (14:28 / km) +18m 13:57 / km

Mack Porter park. Over the bridge, around the east loop and back. I did a bit of dog towing.

I cross-checked my fenix with my chest strap. The fenix claims a maximum heart rate of 150. That is probably more like it.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:90 max:114 shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

Did some fast feet stuff, and lifted (for me) heavy weights. I got a bit dizzy with the 20-pounders.

A tough one today. I finally got warm. The exciting part--on the way home, I saw a pileated woodpecker. Very unusual here.

Putting out tapes for control locations for my meet in March. A beautiful day, and I finally got warm for the first time in a week or so.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:110 max:128 shoes: INOV-8 Alltrain 215

The CHOW this week was jump ropes. I did 303, which wasn't all that good, but what I could do. The second round was really hard. All in pushup position--walks, toe taps, in-and-outs, jacks. A very unpleasant three minutes.

Dog Walking 25:14 [2] 1.9 mi (13:17 / mi) +6m 13:09 / mi
ahr:105 max:150 shoes: INOV-8 Trail Talon 225

Mack Porter Park. The one-way was barricaded, so I went in the main entrance, and drove the wrong way down the one-way to park. We walked the entire perimeter of the park, and there was only one patch of snow and ice. The gas plant was very smelly, however.

Jesse James Park. Lots of snow and ice still on the south side. The rest was good, except that my hands got cold. I need better gloves.
