Day 1 of the OINK. A long, narrow park which had a ridge in the center and went mostly downhill on both sides. We mostly zigzagged across the ridge, but it was an interesting course, technically. I made a grievous error on five. this was probably the simplest control on the course, but I went into an OOB area, which, of course, had no topo. I wandered around for about 20 minutes, trying to find the control. I didn't see the DO NOT ENTER signs, but should have read my map enough to know that I didn't need to go over the fence. My route choice to 8 could have been better, but I didn't have too much trouble finding it. Then, going to 9, I ended up at 2, but it was a short jog back to 9. The biggest problem here was that it was very thorny, and I shed some blood over it. Lots of scratches, shoulders, thighs, fingers.
The last control and finish were up a steep hill. I had to stop twice to catch my breath at the end.
