Orienteering race 10:25 [4] * 0.9 km (11:34 / km) +15m 10:41 / km
ahr:126 max:146 spiked:10/10c shoes: Skechers Walkers

I didn't plan on wearing my Walkers for this--they are slip-ons and there is no way to tighten them up so your feet aren't slipping around inside. Also, they have no traction. Bob carried out my stuff this morning, and I didn't pay attention and let him know that I needed my sport bag also. I was planning on changing shoes when I put on my knee braces,

Only bad thing to happen. Otherwise, I even ran just a little in my walkers, and navigation was easy. For the actual distance (1.1 km) my pace was under 10min/km. Yeah! And I got the box of cookies for first solo female (or maybe only solo female).

The Long Great Pumpkin at Ft. Leavenworth. Again, wrong shoes, and I had to go really slow down a couple of steep hills. No problems with navigation, and I thought my route choice were pretty good. I dropped the map about halfway between 5 and 6, and the wind picked it up and blew under a chain link fence into the mulch bin at the maintenance yard. I walked around the fence and building, and yeah, the gate was open, so I retrieved the map and walked all the way back around. My printout says that I lost 5:07, and that seems about right. Otherwise, I had a really good time, and fun with a map in the woods. Fritz did a great job with control placement. My Fitbit tells me that I actually went about 8 km.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:113 max:133 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Very consistent workout. I spent all of one round sparring with Shelby, and she kept me moving.

Dog Walking 21:38 [2] 1.48 km (14:37 / km) +18m 13:47 / km
ahr:123 max:141 shoes: GORUN5

After recycling, I took Elray to the Riverfront Trail. It was really windy, which made it feel really cold, so we turned around and went back at the new tennis courts. I need a more sheltered place to walk the dog on windy days. This place is up and down on a ridge and the wind always blows.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:110 max:129 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Somewhat sore from all that stuff yesterday. Good workout with lots of pushups.
9 AM

Dog Walking 28:39 [3] 2.15 km (13:20 / km) +18m 12:47 / km
ahr:118 max:155 shoes: GORUN5

Walk with Elray at Jesse James Park. I wore my new running shoes, and broke out into a jog a few times. Driving in, I could see a small helicopter hovering in place with a long, white tube (~4-6" diameter) hanging down. It looked like it was in the back section of Mack Porter Park. After our walk, we headed home, and I turned into the road to the park (the back way in where we saw the helicopter has been closed for several weeks), but a guy with a stop sign was making everyone turn around. I rolled down the window and asked what was happening, and he said that they were trimming trees. By helicopter! Very strange.

Yoga 1:15:00 [1]

Candlelight. Good stretches, but my right big toe is so painful I had to do Downward Dog on one leg.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:120 max:131 shoes: Skechers GoFit

An early start this morning. Brian was the trainer and he designed the workout today, which is to say, tough. Tough all the way through, and capped by Round 9--two plank Spidermans, followed by a plank-up, a push-up,and a plank down. Repeat four times, then do ten plank jacks. This for 2-1/2 minutes, then hold plank the last 30 seconds. It was a relief to hold the plank. And I hadn't been there since Saturday.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]
ahr:105 max:149 shoes: GORUN5

A hard workout tonight. I'm still pretty congested with hay fever, and had to stop a few times to catch my breath. They just got in about a dozen cardio machines of various types, and I started out with 5 minutes on the air bike. Brutal. We also did a lot of heavy weights, combined with balance.

Note
(sick)

I got really sick Sunday night, and spent all day Monday mostly in bed. Bob was sick like this about a week ago, but he kept saying it was food poisoning, but I think it was a bug that subsequently got to me. We hadn't been this sick for 25 years, since my grandson came over for Christmas a few weeks before his first birthday and everyone else there got sick. He is now 25 and has two little boys. Anyway, I had a piece of toast for lunch, then Bob got me a chocolate milkshake last night, and I am feeling much better, having spent all night and almost all day in bed.

Watkins Mill to the second bridge and back. I got a new pair of shoes from ActiveGearUP ($40) and wanted to try them out. They are running shoes, and I'm going to start wearing them on asphalt paths. My TrailTalons are getting lots of mileage, and I need to save them for orienteering sprint runs. Anyway the new shoes felt great. Twenty-nine minutes out and twenty-three minutes back. Next time I try a little running.
