9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:120 max:138 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Michael was the trainer, and it was a hard workout. Also, my right arm is very sore and kept me awake last night. I had a tetanus shot in the right arm and a pneumonia shot in the left yesterday. Lifting the dumbells was difficult.

Lots of upper body, and my shoulders and arms were already sore because I did so much upper body last night with my trainer. Amanda also added some extra tough moves to the last 30 seconds of some of the rounds. Knee is just a little sore, so I modified when necessary.

Felt like I was working harder than this. Maybe my HRM needs recharging. I did 96 on the CHOW--a lunge and a punch.

Mack Porter Park. I've not been walking Elray enough because of the weather, so it was really good for both of us to get out. The inside of my right knee was hurting. I'm hoping this doesn't continue, or I will have to go see Dr. Paul.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]

Workout with my trainer. We used the ladder for agility drills. Haven't done that in quite a while.

Gardening. Bit the bullet, picked up the pruning shears, and hit the blackberries. Horrible job because they are so healthy and spreading everywhere and crowding out the raspberries and strawberries. So I got all of them out of the other berry beds, and worked along the fence line, which had lots of multiflora rose impinging from the other side of the fence. Painful, but it's gone. I was totally wiped out, and had to stop, but a few more sessions will be need there.

OK had a compass practice at a Riverfront Park in Lawrence, and since I had badly messed up with my compass in Georgia, thought this would be a great opportunity. Thank you, maprunner and Spike.

There were 7 control, plus start and finish, and when I got to Finish, I worked backward to the Start. No problems until the return trip with one and two. Just lost a little focus, but found them, mostly by checking the terrain. I did use my compass on the others. Part of the time and distance was because of crossing a very wet and muddy creek. I ran up and down looking for a crossing place, and felt very fortunate not to have lost my shoe in the mud. It was also a trick climbing up the muddy bank. On the return trip, I found a better crossing place with lots of tree limbs to walk across.

All in all, a very satisfying and productive day. Now I am trying to download into QuickRoute.
