9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:113 max:142 shoes: Skechers GoFit

I waited until the temperature was on the positive side of zero before heading out, since my usual morning walk with Elray was at -7. We had Burpee Friday, and my glutes are very sore from yesterday. Michael was the trainer today, and he really put me through the paces on Round 5.

9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:126 max:150 shoes: Skechers GoFit

A really tough day. Got my HR maxed out on the CHOW at round 5, and it really wanted to stay there. The round 5 CHOW was donkey kicks on the big bag, and I managed 200 in 3 minutes. We had another CHOW on round 8, but it was much easier. I got in 400 punches on the speed bag.
Just a little sore from my workout yesterday with Jared.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]
ahr:107 max:146 shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Back to doing lots of agility drills. Still grading up on the weights. A few really tough moves tonight. Carrying pretty heavy (for me) weights across the gym, and some work with the straps. I'm thinking, sore tomorrow.

Harder than yesterday. Only did 11 on the CHOW, but I did 12 on the same one yesterday. Thirty hits on the speed bag, and a Burpee. That's one.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:107 max:132 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Seemed a little harder effort than my HR reflected.

I should have taken some ibuprofen before bed last night. I was really restless and this morning had some achiness in the inside of the right knee. Since I was awake from about 430 on, I had lots of time to rerun yesterday's race. Around 530, the errant contact made it out, and now I can see again. It was really annoying.

Next time, make sure I can see. I had no idea where the trails were on the map. Also, never go to anything but a sprint without some Clif blocks. Probably a good idea to do the middle length course, since I seldom need to go as far as the long. On the plus side--my endurance was really good. I only had to stop for breath once, on that really steep slope from 6 to 7, and had no real problems on the downhills.

Yoga 1:14:00 [0]

Restorative. I'd missed yoga for the last two weeks--weather, house guests, and they were closed last Monday. It felt really good to be back. I hope sleeping is more restful tonight.

Orienteering 2:09:40 [4] *** 6.3 km (20:35 / km) +128m 18:41 / km
spiked:10/14c shoes: INOV8 Bare Grips

OK meet at Woodridge. One minor mistakes, two medium mistakes, and one whopper. I had lots of trouble getting there--a car I had never driven before, and I had written down the directions which included Stull Road. I never found Stull Road, but went up and down the hiway several times. Finally found where to turn. In the mean time, my contact had slipped around, and not only was it not working, it was irritating my eye throughout the race.

A little confused at the start, but recovered ok, until 10. I wasn't too far off here--just east on the reentrant, so an easy recovery. But my blood sugar must have tanked by now, and, instead of going NW, I went SW out of 10. The problem with losing focus. I got into some really nasty woods, but figured out where I was and picked up 11. For no good reason, instead of going to 12, I went to 13, then went to 12, and finished. Not my best effort. I knew I needed gels for Georgia, but I should have gotten some for this race also. Always need food, before the one hour mark.

My bad. It was a good course. No problems getting home.
