9Round 32:00 [3]

Thought this was an easier day than most, but the last round, core strength, was tough.

Dog Walking 31:06 [2] 1.67 km (18:37 / km)
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Hodge Park, the historic area. Usually I make Elray match my pace, but today I let her set the pace and direction. She was having a doggie diva day.

Burpee Friday. Nothing really tough, but generally a good workout. I couldn't find my chest strap, so I had to take the heart rate off my Surge.

Kind of orienteering/dog walking fusion. We went to the North end of Hodge Park, and took some of the bike trails. I wanted to determine if they were enough junctions to include some control points in this summer's sprint, and make it a little more interesting. I need to do this again on the rest of the trails, but I couldn't get Elray to drink and didn't want here to overheat. She had a really good time.

Good workout. I even did just a little bit of jumping.

Then, I drove into Liberty for an Echocardiogram and a stress test. I was on the treadmill for about ten minutes, and they took me off when I hit a HR of 133, which they had calculated would be 90% of my max. While I won't find out the details for a week to ten days, if anything had been really wrong, the cardiologist would have come to see me, so that's good news. The other good thing was that my heart rate went down to normal fairly quickly. Now I can exercise hard.

A few tough moves like Russian crab kicks and ball rollups. I'm a little sore from last night's yoga/pilates.

Workout with my trainer. Lots of going up and down the ramp while holding weights. Also emphasized upper body a lot tonight.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:113 max:136 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Bettered yesterday's CHOW by 8 today. Jab, cross, two rounds kicks. Sixty of them in three minutes.

I need to start running a little again. I decided this when in Ohio for the last A meet, where the trails were in good shape, and I only walked. So, today when I took Elray out to pick up the mail, we ran back to the house, very close to 100 meters. I should do this when I take her out first thing in the morning. We used to pick up the paper and run back to the house. I will need to put on real shoes and not just my Crocs.

Yoga 1:22:08 [3]
ahr:82 max:136

Tonight I tried something new--yoga/pilates fusion. Lots of movement and stretches. It was hard. I did not try to do the two head stand positions--I modified. Probably a good idea to do this, even though it took me out of my comfort zone.

Not as aerobic as some, but two challenges today, and an almost painful last round. Got 413 punches on the challenge on round 8. Wow!

Not a good effort. I made a parallel error on the first control, and took 37:41. After that, I was ok until control 8. I knew I was in the right location, and kept wandering in the correct place, then found out that they had already picked up 8 & 9, so I went on in. Woods weren't quite as green as characterized on the map, thank goodness, but still very thorny, etc., and got me bloodied up a bit.
