Dog Walking 24:00 [1] 1.0 mi (24:00 / mi)
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Walked Elray at Jesse James Park. It was hot--we were slow.

9Round 32:00 [4]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

Hard workout today. Designed by Brian, with lots and lots of pushups and plank stuff. The two owners of 9Round in Bentonville, AR, were visiting various 9Rounds in the area for a few days, and one was a round ahead of me and the other a round behind.

9Round 32:00 [4]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

I hadn't been to 9Round this week, since I was doing orienteering in Lawrence. Today was, of course, Burpee Friday, and we did lots of Burpees. It seemed a little hard today. One round had us alternate shin kicks with sprinting back and forth across the gym on the rubber mat. That was good.

After recycling, Elray and I hit the Riverfront trail by the tennis courts. We only went to the road and back because of the heat.

Orienteering 35:00 [2]
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

After the Score-O, which started late because of torrential rain and huge amounts of lightning, I picked up thirteen of the controls. I will move the other twelve to new locations in the morning for tomorrow's sprint. One of the classes didn't get to do the Score-O because of the weather, and several kids expressed their disappointment to me while I was gathering up the controls.

Orienteering 30:00 [2]
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Then I went back to Raintree, and set thirteen of the controls for tomorrow's Score-O. Patrick and his friend Jack put out the other twelve.

Orienteering 40:15 [3] ** 2.8 km (14:23 / km)
spiked:15/16c shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Except for whiffing a bit to the first control, I was satisfied with my navigation. One joy, at least, of going slow. The exciting part was that I actually did a fair amount of slogging today. Running on the pavement hurt my legs, so I did my running on the short grass where I could see so I didn't step in a hole. The most running I have done since March.

After we went to lunch (Paul, Dick, Grafton, Michael, and Gene) Paul and Dick helped me put up the maze in the afternoon heat. I'm now ready for tomorrow's orienteering classes.
