9Round 32:00 [3]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

Good workout. I had a problem with wall sits, then bringing my legs up one at a time to touch my feet. It was ouchy, so I bent down to touch my toes instead. Everything else ok.

When I walked down the driveway, to take Elray out early, then later to pick up the mail, I noticed that my body kept wanting to limp some, so I made a conscious effort to not limp. Hopefully, conscious thought will help the patterning.

Elray told me she wanted to go out and walk, so we went to Jesse James Park. I tried to walk without limping--getting a little better. I had a little upper body workout when we saw several bunnies.

Cooler today and not raining. Wow! Elray and I were both in need of a good walk, so after recycling, we took the trail from the tennis courts to the wastewater treatment plant and back. I wore my lightweight knee wrap and focused on trying to maintain a regular gait. This was sometimes difficult and a little uncomfortable. We did keep up a pretty good pace, however.

Hard training session. The last round was a killer. Three minutes of alternating mommy bicycles with V-ups.

Later in the day, I put on Deep Woods Off and spent three hours weeding and picking the blueberries. It was a jungle out there. Then I came in and scrubbed with a dry towel, and showered. All the clothes are in the washing machine. Even with all that, I have found two ticks so far, and several mosquito bites. Since I saw poison ivy, I took a double shot of Oral Ivy. Now I'm enjoying a well-earned glass of merlot. My leg is tired, but I'm not In pain.

Note

Tonight we took ElRay to her agility class, and I was able to work her through the obstacles. It was intense running, sometimes laterally, for 30 to 60 second intervals. Then rest, because it was so hot.

I almost felt like I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just wore a lightweight elastic on my knee, and we did lots of agility drills. Some were a running type of motion, and I had no pain and didn't feel unstable. I'm still doing my warmup on the stationary bike. Graduation will be getting off the bike and running for the warmup. Quite a bit of balance work at the end of the workout, also. I wore my HRM and it will be interesting to see how my HR went today.

Did everything but jump today. Then I saw my chiropractor and he said the same thing as my trainer. Wear the knee brace as little as possible, because it affects the gait, and lets the muscles around the knee slack off.

Hot and sweaty at 0900, but not raining. Yeah! A really good workout--I manage to do plankups for the first time since my injury.

Dog Walking 42:00 [2] 2.0 mi (21:00 / mi)
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

First 90 degree day this season, but Elray has not been getting enough exercise because of all the rain. It started to cloud up a little, and a nice breeze, so we went to Watkins Mill for the first time this spring.

Today we started counter-clockwise because it is shadier. The sounds of the cicadas in places was almost deafening. I was glad that she walked really well alongside me, unlike when she goes to more urban venues. We were just about a mile in when the bike path was closed. The high water had broken off the guard rail on the upstream side. Since I thought a 2-mile hike would be plenty for us right now, we turned around and walked back. I wore my knee brace. I think for future walks, I should either wear both or none, as it really affects my gait, and Jared said that not having a correct gait is doing more harm than exercising it is doing good. Just a little pain on the steeper downhills.
