Bicycle 15:36 [4] 3.37 mi (4:38 / mi)
ahr:124 max:148 (injured)

Today I tried the Coastal Run, with the first mile going uphill. I felt significantly stronger than two days ago, and beat the pacer by almost 2.5 minutes.
7 PM

Dog Walking 18:00 [1]
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Went to Porter Park with Bob and Elray. Easy walk, but I didn't hurt as much as last time. The hard part is getting in and out of the truck.

This was a really good day. I stopped at 9Round and talked with Hannah. Told her I would be back starting Monday, but wouldn't be able to do all the rounds--I would be improvising, and I got to pick up my Burpees t-shirt. I probably won't be doing Burpees for a while, yeah!

Then I drove over to Tiffany Springs Park. It took me about 35 minutes, which isn't too bad. I looked at the softball complex and the soccer complex and some of the surroundings. It's over 800 acres, with open areas, streams, hills, and woods. Since I can't do a lot else, maybe it's time to make a map. It would be very easy to get to from both sides of the state line.

Bicycle 15:00 [4] 3.06 mi (4:54 / mi)

Two times around the Redwood Dash. Faster than a couple of days ago--I passed the pacer and I'm really sweaty. The toughest part is putting my bike shoes on the foot of my bad leg.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

Worked out with Jared after having to skip last week. It really felt good, and although I was careful, I did get to sweat. I wore my heavy duty knee brace, and we did a bunch of lateral stuff that I haven't done since injury.

I also wore my new shoes. Normally I'm not much for shopping, but I love to buy new athletic shoes, and these were on sale at Active.com for $30. Wow! It was retail therapy and helped my depression, and they looked really good too.

(injured)

Went to see the orthopedist today. I did do about three sets of my PT exercises while doing all the doctor waiting.

He thinks the ACL tear may be old, but I also have some meniscus tearing, not good. Mainly he says that I have lots of arthritis in both knees, age appropriate, but since I do stuff most people my age don't do, I haven't noticed too much.

Anyway, he just wants me to wear the heavy-duty knee brace, and wait about a month until the contusion and bone bruises around my knee are healed, then we will reevaluate.

7 PM

Dog Walking 15:00 [1]

Short walk with slow pace at Mack Porter. I did not hold the leash, because of wild squirrel sightings.
