Not as tough as usual.

Orienteering 2:45:00 [2]

Mapping mostly, with a few control points put in. A lot of small trails have been added, mostly connecting the major trails. I put these in, plus a lot of fences, and a few other features. I didn't put in the small streams and reentrants, but there were only a few. The woods are not that pleasant, mostly medium green and an area of dark green, but the good news is that there are lots of trails.

Note

Today was a total rest day. Mary Ann and I went shopping, had lunch, and did more shopping. It felt really good to take a day off, especially since I need to do big time mapping this weekend while the weather is willing.

9Round 32:00 [4]

I thought today was tough. And I bested my donkey kick challenge again--I got to 237 kicks in 3 minutes, which really got my heart rate going.

Multi-tasked by taking ElRay to Hodge Park to do the Yellow course with me. I put up the flagging and deviated from the course a few times to put up flagging for Orange and Red courses, then back-tracked to get on the route to the Yellow controls. She was a really good girl, especially at the end when we came back to the Museum area, and the bison were out. They kept an eye on her, and she kept an eye on them, but we had no barking. She did decide to roll around in the grass across from their compound.

Wowza! Same challenge as yesterday, donkey kicks to the bag, but I beat yesterday by 33 more kicks. Not terribly aerobic otherwise, but a good overall workout. I was supposed to see Jared this afternoon, but it didn't work out.

9Round 32:00 [4]

Lots of types of squats and balance things, so my heart rate mostly didn't go up into the yellow, until I got to the challenge where I got well into the red. We did donkey kicks into a really big bag, and I got 175 in 3 minutes. Must easier than doing one-legged squats on a balance thingy.

Challenging workout for "whittle your middle" Monday. Really busy at the gym today. Loads of plank things.

Mapping. I ran into some new trails, so these must be the mountain bike single track they had planned to put in. Following the trails was a lot of fun, but I also put in a short intermittent creek, and a larger creek with lots of twists and turns and water in it. This was not fun, and was really slow going. A lot of the woods is really thick (but not thorny) but there are lots of trails. I also found a couple more old fences. Every time I go out, I find lots more I need to do.

Mapping and course setting the Yellow course. Really nice in the woods, but a little too wet for stream setting.
