9Round 32:00 [5]
ahr:129 max:139

This was kick-your-butt day. Hardest for me all week. I quickly got into the 80% plus max HR, and stayed there most of the workout. My form is getting much better with the stuff I used to have trouble with--burpees, up-downs, rock-hoppers, etc.

9Round 31:30 [4]

Just a tad harder than yesterday. I've been trying to kick higher, and my front kicks and round kicks were pretty good today. Side kicks are still pretty wimpy.

Dog Walking 45:00 [2]
shoes: Skechers GoRunS

Took ElRay to Ruth Stocksdale. We ran around and chased the Frisbee for a while in the Dog Park area, and tried the new doggy drinking fountain. Then, back on with the leash, and we set out on the trails to do an old sprint map of the park. About halfway through the course, a really big pit bull and a Great Dane showed up, off-leash, and ElRay and I turned around and headed for the closest path out of the woods. Then we went back to the Dog Park for a drink. While ElRay was drinking, someone showed up from the local paper to do a photo and article about the new doggy drinking fountain.

9Round 32:00 [4]

My upper body in general, and around the top of my rib cage, in particular, were very sore this morning from last night's workout. Also, I had two cramps in my right calf last night--no idea what that was about.

Anyway, today's 9Round seemed a little easier than usual, or maybe I'm getting fitter.

9Round 31:30 [4]

Sore arms. Too much with medicine balls and weights. The next to last had us holding our arms out palms up with weights, and doing 10 shin kicks on the bag, then turning palms down and doing 10 shin kicks. Sounds simple, but doing this continuously for three minutes was a lot.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]

Weekly workout with Jared. Yeah, no sled today, but we did lots of arm work. Also, my brain was working really well when following the agility patterns. I wore my HR monitor, so tomorrow I will get to see how hard I worked out.

9Round 32:00 [5]

Hardest day since last Tuesday. Brian was in charge today, and all but about two of the stations were brutal. Lots of weights, lots of plank variations.

9Round 31:30 [4]

First five stations were fairly easy; then I got to do the last four. The worst was the last one--doing the hundred, followed by 20 Russian twists with a medicine ball, then repeat for three minutes.

Orienteering 44:00 [3] ** 2.9 km (15:10 / km)
spiked:16/16c

Did some multi-tasking by combining an old sprint run at Jesse James Park with dog-walking. ElRay loved it, since we were mostly running in the (long and unmowed) grass, where she hadn't been before. We did stop once for a few minutes for her to roll around in the grass, but we had just climbed a steep hill, so that was ok. I had planned to wear my new HR monitor and see how my activity level went, but forgot it at home. Next time.
