Orienteering 25:00 [3] **
spiked:18/20c shoes: Skechers GoRunS

Fun Score-O at Hidden Valley, a new venue, today. Still really tired from teaching Orienteering to little kids all week.

Missed one control, 5, not sure how. The other one I screwed up was looking at the wrong uncrossable fence.

No work this week. Yeah!

Orienteering 45:00 [2]

Second day of class. Put out 12 controls, and picked up all 24 at 12:30.

Seriously itchy from chiggers--makes it hard to sleep.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]

My usual Wed. morning workout with Jared on Tuesday afternoon. Lots of arm work.

Orienteering 5:30:00 [2]

First teaching day at Raintree. I had set out 12 controls last night, then did the mapwalk, 1.7 km, with each group, so this was six times. And it was hot, too. Then I drove 1-1/2 hr home, and need to get set up for tomorrow. I'm tired.

Orienteering 29:03 [4] **
spiked:10/12c shoes: Skechers GoRunS

Went to the Orienteer Kansas sprint event at West Campus. Did not adequately get set on the first control. Also got off course going to control 4. Otherwise, good map reading, ok route choices.

After finishing the course, my step-grandson, age 9, arrived and he did the 1 km course, with me shadowing. He hadn't orienteered in quite a while, but after help with the first two controls, finished on his own. He then got to compare splits with some of the adults, and found out he was faster on some of the splits. A good motivator.
