First workout of the new year. Lots of jumps, balance, weights
Looking back at 2012--I have made lots of progress.
Injuries:
Started PT in March for a torn tendon in my left bicep.
Hurt heel on left foot (plantar fasciitis?) feeling ok now
Started seeing a personal trainer in late July. Have made a lot of progress since then.
Orienteering:
US Champs March 9-11 in North Carolina. Finished, but not that great.
Flying Pig March31, Apr 1 & 2. Pretty good until last day, when I didn't finish
Navigator Cup Apr 14-15. OT first day, second day ok
Laramie Aug 25-Sept 2. Training was good to acclimate to the altitude. First day of A-Meet good, second day DNF
Cincinnati Nov 30 Finished second in the first Nite-O I completed. My headlamp conked out on the next to last control, but I finished anyway.
Dec. 1--Did yellow on Relay. First running since hurting my heel, and it went well.
Dec. 2--Ultra Long Terrible rain, lots of mud, but I made it anyway and got third. Cincinnati was my best in quite a while.
Looking to 2013
Continue with trainer. Build endurance, agility, balance, power
Hope to get weight down to 120.
More orienteering practice is needed.
