9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:120 max:180 shoes: Skechers GoFit

No incredibly tough moves today, but very aerobic. I stayed in the 80-100% ranges most of the workout, then ended with the CHOW of how many curl-ups with a medicine ball to touch the toes overhead in three minutes and I did 76, but it was a long 3 minutes.

Yoga 1:18:00 [0]

Restorative yoga. Hadn't been for a month. It was good.

Dog Walking 51:15 [3] 4.29 km (11:57 / km)
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Took Elray to Watkins Mill. She had been following me around from room-to-room all morning, and we haven't had a good walk in a while because I was sick. I tried to keep a good pace (except for poo and pickup stops). I think I should try to increase my walking pace, and look at leg turnover. Except for not making stupid mistakes, I think that would be the best thing I can do at this point in time to increase my speed during events.

I checked the fitbit from yesterday, and I actually went 5.38 km on the 3.8 km course.

Orienteering race 1:17:35 [4] *** 4.0 km (19:24 / km)
spiked:8/9c shoes: INOV8 Bare Grips

PTOC meet at Longview Lake. I did the greater part of registration, then went out. Navigation was fairly easy, but lots of brush and horrible blackberry brambles everywhere. I had to detour around stuff a lot. Very slow on the uneven terrain, but the only actual mistake was on 3-4 where I climbed the hill and went too far to the east. Knowing exactly where I was and what my mistake was, I went back and punched the control.

In some places, I took the long way around on roads and trails, which in many cases was probably faster, even for me. While looking at the map, I stepped in a hole and did a face plant. Haven't done too many of those lately.

Really warm and a nice day with a heavy breeze. I was really hungry and thirsty when I got back. Good to be out in the woods again.

9Round 32:00 [4]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

Back to 9Round. Yesterday I had seriously sore glutes from Wednesday, plus important stuff to take care of in the morning and skipped. Today was difficult, but not especially aerobic. Lots of weights and balance, and it was Burpee Friday.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:114 max:143 shoes: Skechers GoFit

First time back at 9Round in three weeks. I finally woke up this morning feeling almost normal, so I decided to give it a try. We had a challenge, 3 jabs at the bag, down on knees and back up counts as one. I managed 31 and got my heart rate up. It feels really good to be back.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

Workout with my trainer. Since I am still recuperating somewhat, we stayed off the aerobic stuff--no heavy breathing, but used heavy weights. Which made it a power workout. I pushed the sled with lots more weight than usual, but a shorter distance, and more slowly. Also did a lot of balance stuff, but not the agility drills tonight.

Dog Walking 31:22 [3] 2.51 km (12:30 / km) +12m 12:12 / km
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Feeling terrible. Beautiful day, and I thought some exercise would be good, so I walked Elray after recycling. We both had a good time, and then we both came home and took a nap.

Note
(sick) (rest day)

Since I go in for a new crown tomorrow, I was mostly a slug today, trying to get well. My ears feel better, but not good, but my cough is still really rough.

This is too bad, since today was really beautiful, and I stayed inside and rested. We did open the windows and aired out the house.

Workout 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: INOV8 TrailRoc 235

Workout with Jared. Since I haven't done much for the last two weeks, and I'm sick, we did a few modifications, like no running. Otherwise, we hit balance, agility, upper body, balance, and exercised the muscles surrounding my knees.

I went snorkeling for two hours on Sunday (lots of fun), then had no sleep Monday night., We got on the plane at 1115 pm, got into Phoenix around 8 am, then home around 3, after picking up Elray. So my Eustachian tubes probably got water in them, then all the pressure changes on the plane. They hurt a lot, and my sinuses hurt also, and I have a really terrible cough.

9Round 32:00 [4]
ahr:114 max:144 shoes: Skechers GoFit

Really got the heart rate up on the CHOW this morning. Lots of up and down stuff, and the last round was brutal--moving the exercise ball back and forth between arms and legs for three minutes.

Workout 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: Skechers GoFit

Had my usual Wed. workout tonight with Jared. Lots of ropes, lots of running up and down the ramp, forward, backward, sideways. We used the cones instead of the ladder for agility drills, and that was more difficult.
