My avg HR was more than 119. In the middle of the workout, the HRM stopped working for about 4 minutes. Probably because I was sweating so hard it couldn't make contact. They had some good tunes today, and it pumped me up. Then I met Mary Ann and we had our annual mid-winter spa day--massage and mani-pedi packages from Christmas. The waterless pedicures are really relaxing, but I was still so pumped up from my workout that it was hard for me to relax. Now I feel great.

Today was like a 4.5. We had pushup-T's with dumbbells on Round 2, and ended up with pushup position with feet on a stability ball, pushing it in and out. In between was also challenging.

Workout with Jared. We did several back exercises we hadn't done before, and I could feel it. Probably good, since my sacromiliac hurts a little sometimes. I also think my arms will be sore tomorrow.

Burpee Friday. Busy gym today. Seems like some of the moves (e.g. up-downs) are getting a lot easier.

Pretty tough workout today. The last round was holding plank position for three minutes. This was the second time we did this, and I think it was a little easier for me. I focused on my yoga breathing.

Weekly workout with Jared. It seemed pretty tough tonight--I did all the agility drills holding a medicine ball over my head. Also I had a lot of trouble doing curls on one foot which was on a balance pad. That might have been because I went to the eye doctor today, and I'm still seeing things funny. Then we finished off with three trips up and back with the sled.

Today was a really hard workout. Lots of legs. I started on Round 9 in pushup position with my feet on an exercise ball. It was a pushup, then pulling knees to chest with the ball and back out. Sets of 12. I didn't think I could do this, but ended up doing 4 sets. Wow!

Tonight I tried Vinyasa Flow. Not quite as vigorous as the Hatha, but we did super amounts of different hip stretching which made it challenging. Also good was the emphasis on breathing.

Didn't get my HR up nearly as much as usual, but several new plank variations were challenging. At the last station, we were supposed to stay in a V shape while holding weights out to the side for 3 minutes. Yes, I did take a few rest breaks from the hold during the very long three minutes.

Did the orange course at Hodge Park with Elray, who was sometimes not as cooperative as she could have been. Moved the first control about 10 feet onto a different feature to avoid having a problem with errant golf balls. Also, one flag was missing on the course. Hope this is not a continuing problem. I also found another trail and another fence to map in. Beautiful day for early February.

Multi-tasking the White course at Hodge Park with walking the Elray. I made a couple of minor changes to the map, and checked out the start/finish venue. I also noted where I will need to bring posts to hang the flags. I will need 6, plus one control with a long string.

I purposely stayed off the dirt trails, and in the open, because of all the snow melt and mud, but it was still really mooshey.

After recycling, took Elray to Riverside Park and walked from the tennis courts to the road. We did some running, and she got to roll around in the snow. After spending several days inside because of bad weather, it was great to get out in the sunshine.

Very busy at the gym today. Channel 5 was there, and all the trainers except for David. Got in a good workout.

Weekly workout with Jared, and it was a major sweat session. My arms are sore right now, and I also got to push the sled up and back four times at the end of the workout. I was wearing my HRM, and it will be interesting to see tomorrow how much my HR went up during sled-pushing.

I thought it was a hard workout today, and my HRM reset itself higher. We had a challenge--one squat, one pushup, two squats, etc. for 3 minutes. I made it up to 13 on the squats and 12 on the pushups.

Good whittle your middle Monday workout.

After the workout, I bundled up and took ElRay to the doggie park. She hadn't had much activity for two days, but she ran and chased balls, and played with a Blue Heeler. Normally I would run up and down some of the hills with her, but today I was content to stay mostly still and bundled up like the Michelin Man.
