Some Salmon la Sac training. Went pretty well for the most part; the main goal was just to maintain map contact and practice good technique in complicated terrain. I was successful more often than not.
When I arrived, there was a whitewater race competition happening on the Cle Elum River just up from the bridge crossing, with overheard slalom gates set up, like in the Olympics.

Tried to go up to a little lake called Diamond Lake, but lost the trail after it got too snowy, I didn't want to do a cross-country sidehill traverse on a steep slope for another mile, and the ridgeline was too gnarly to follow - so forward progress was no longer feasible.

I think I like the morning ride more than the evening ride; the route is less disjointed and has a better flow with fewer traffic stops. Also, the cool, crisp air and lakefront scenery are enjoyable.

There's the sub-45. And the haters said it couldn't be done. They said Bannister couldn't do it, they said Kipchoge couldn't do it, and they said Enger couldn't do it.
