Lick Creek. This was a bit of a slog; Legs didn't feel energetic at all beforehand or warming up, though in the end I wasn't too terribly slower than yesterday. Which I guess maybe just means I was slow yesterday also. Thought about cutting from 14 to 20, but figured I might as well tough it out since I at least wasn't actively slowing down.

Got stuck in several unfriendly green swamps, including one within the first 100m which threw me off my line and caused a miss on the first control, so that was a rude start. Also a small mistake on 6, a dumb mistake on 8, and completely whiffed on 11, coming up some 100m short. I found some rocks there that matched the mapped configuration, but things didn't seem quite right - and in retrospect it was definitely too steep to be the correct spot, so I should have known better.

Luckily, I honored the hallowed tradition of DQ for a DQ and visited the Cle Elum Dairy Queen afterward, though I did not know at the time I had DQ'd. An act of Freudian prescience, perhaps.

Teanaway. Kinda sloppy nav at times. Went into the wrong reentrant on 3; at first I thought it was right but something seemed off. Also too low on 6 and too high on 10. Better after that though. Lovely day, partial sun with 55-60F. I pushed my car up to 100mph on a lonely straightaway just for the hell of it. This felt mildly unsafe.

Tooling around on a *1:6500* map checking out a potential orienteering area. A dizzying array of trails, mostly MTB, but not a lot of contour detail and gnarly veg pretty much everywhere - so, as expected. Large area though.
