Teanaway Cup, Day 2 (long), updated/expanded version of Peteris' Jungle Creek map. This course had 37(!) controls, which I think is the most I've done in one go. With such a large number of controls, it seemed only likely that at least a few of them wouldn't want to be found by me; little did I know, the very first one would be the least interested in being found, as I lost some four minutes there. And then I only had 36 more to find! Also lost substantial time at 17, 22, and 25, and some smaller errors elsewhere, but more important, I felt good physically.

Had a pleasant surprise on the way to 11 when I crossed paths with Jourdan, as I didn't even know he had shown up to the event. We immediately whooped and trashtalked until out of earshot. I later caught up to him when he lost *eleven minutes* on 21, only for us both to miss 22 badly and for him to get ahead again. Further on, I caught up to Bonesaw at 28, which seemed very weird, because he started after me. Then we both made a mistake in the circle at 29, and I got ahead again. So things were a bit farcical at times, but a lot of fun. Ended up some 5min behind Eric, 4min ahead of Jourdan, though our speeds were all quite similar. Like the first day, tough and technical terrain with lots of variation in vegetation, runnability, and visibility.

Teanaway Cup, Day 1 (middle). Big thanks to Peteris and Ott for their completely new map; I was impressed by the quality and accuracy of the mapping, particularly the vegetation. We're lucky to have people who are willing and capable of:

1. Finding a brand-new, high quality orienteering venue
2. Creating from scratch an NRE-level map
3. Designing excellent courses on said map
4. Physically vetting and setting said excellent courses on the day

All in their spare time and at no expense to anyone other than the paltry event entry fee. Truly impressive.

Had a pretty good run and got Bonesaw by a little over a minute, despite losing some 1:20 on the go control. Also had small losses of 15-20s on 10 (bogged down in marsh), 17, and 20 (bad compass). Really fun and technical area, with generally low visibility in the green, and some good contour detail. Quite wet and a bit chilly, though not bad once warmed up.
