We had 110 (!) starts at the Big Finn Hill event, which is far and away a record for the Wednesday Evening Series; I don't think we'd ever had more than 75-80. I'm sure it will be something of a fluke, as one of the culprits was a large group of 15-20 Microsofters who were brought by a guy who had sought me out at the last event and warned me he was planning to bring a bunch of coworkers for a teambuilding outing or some such. There was also a handful of Boy Scouts, not sure how or where they came from. Despite the large turnout I was able to delegate my event director duties for a bit and run the course, though I was well familiar with it beforehand. Always interesting to see how fast you can do a course when you already know it. I did 32 and Jon (course-setter who lives across the street from the park and knows it back to front) did 36, while the fastest real competitor (Bonesaw) did 40.
