Conditions treacherous. I came around a gentle corner at speed to find that some upstanding citizen had placed a shopping cart full of junk directly on my line, at which point I attempted to swerve inside of it. Alas, the ground was covered with wet leaves, so I skidded out and went down hard on the right side. Luckily, the leaves also acted as an excellent sliding surface such that my shin and thigh have naught more than a couple minor scratches to show for it. Even better, my leg absorbed the majority of the force and my bike seems okay. The right handle grip is now bent slightly inward, but my wheels and drivetrain appear to have escaped without noticeable harm. At first my front wheel was jammed up and I thought it was bent all to hell, but it was only the brake housing that got knocked a bit out of whack - an easy fix.
