Minnesota sells itself as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but my friend who went to the U of Wisconsin jokes that the favorite thing of people from Wisconsin is to tell everyone about how they have more lakes than Minnesota does. Then when I went to Manitoba, I discovered that there are over 100,000! lakes there, and >15% of the province's surface area is lake.

I was thinking the other day about digitizing my map collection then I was like well like 95% of the maps are online anyway but what if the singularity happens and the internet goes away maybe I should have them elsewhere but then I thought well in that case I'd just have the hard copies anyway so maybe there's no point regardless.
