Team WillTorious (Tori O and myself) salvaged our competitive weekend by winning the final event, which as everyone knows is the TRUE Sprint Camp championship. This time it was a partner exercise wherein each person draws a rendition of their partner's map/course, then concurrently attempts to orienteer based on what their partner drew. As fate would have it, things came down to an incredibly melodramatic chute finish between American Tori and Canadian Tori; the decisive factor turned out to be who was the first to figure out well maybe I should stop chatting and run. A famous victory! Though I am a red-white-and-blue-blooded American, there comes a time when everlasting glory supersedes national pride and one is co-opted into cheering for the people with silly leaves on their shirts.

Team Enger Management two-man relay. A pre-race high-stakes wager was entered into between the teams of Graeme/Kate, me/dad, and Tori/mom whereby the losing team would buy ice cream for the winners, while the middle team would be unaffected. I started out the final leg in second, and eventually was able to close the gap on Graeme to ~8-10s, only to run 30m right past a control in my excitement (even worse, as I retraced back to said control, I was passed by Jourdan - gah!). So we had to concede the win to Graeme and Kate, but at least were able to claim the neutral spot.

Note

Knee is feeling a lot better! I've acquired and have been experimenting with an impressive arsenal of support devices, which seem to have helped. Or maybe just placeboed me - I'm cool with it either way.

Not sure how but today I annihilated my previous evening PR by, like, five minutes - no doubt partially due to low traffic volume and hitting a lot of lights. Might not be able to run for crap right now but I seem to be in good cycling shape! Beautiful afternoon - too warm for gloves, face cover, or outer layers.
