Cycling (mountain bike) 1:02:09 [2] 6.58 mi (6.4 mph) +85m

Seahawks were winning by so many points (AGAIN) that the pitiful Cardinals surrendered by halftime, so we went on a little MTB jaunt around the transfer station and HS. Patches of silent snow on the ground. Legs are a little sore but feeling better than expected.

Mountain running is certainly not my forte, but this time the Bonesaw prevailed upon me to join him at an underground 25/50k Tiger Mountain run (obviously as fake ultras we did the 25) of about 100 people. It turned out to be a combo run/hike, as we hit the snow level 4-5 miles in, which made running arduous at best and sometimes nigh impossible depending on how well packed the trails were. I wore Orocs, which were a good choice on the ice but quite a poor choice for the last 2-3 downhill miles on hardpacked dirt. Chose not to bring any water which I was a little nervous about, but figured if I had to I could eat a bunch of snow.

Dear god...I'm a M30. Why, universe, why? To make matters worse, I'm almost 2/3 of the way from M20 to M35. Quelle catastrophe. However, if we take a more nuanced view of the situation, we note that I started orienteering competitively as a M27, only three (3) years ago. Since I still have five (5) years until M35, and five (5) is more than (3), we can conclude that I'm still on the happy side of the trajectory. Hooray!
