Kirkland Turkey Trot "5k." I was six seconds slower than last year, but probably not as fresh due to the race yesterday (yeah let's go with that excuse). Third way behind a guy from the local college's XC team, and 15 or 20s behind the same guy who beat me last year. The next guy after me was a regular Ian Smith doppelganger, complete with distastefully garish orange/blue CSU track kit. Or maybe it was a Boise State club T&F uniform - I guess we'll never know. Other difference being, this guy's running tendencies skewed more toward rutabaga than potato.

WIOL #2, North Seatac Park. Came a disappointing third, just 17s behind Jourdan the Man and 16s behind Peteris (41s ahead of Eric) - one of the tightest Winter Series races in recent memory, plus Nikolay and Eric J not far back. Gettin' tough for a guy to win a race around here! I lost 20-30s on 3, then made a big mistake on 9 and lost over a minute. Also, upon review of splits w/Jourdan, GPS track, and video review, I took a very poor/dumb route to 4 which cost some 25s. So much data available to point out my errors, it's great.

Nice course, particularly legs 2-3-4, though I would have liked more controls in the tricky disc golf area. I was definitely tiring on the 15-16-17-18 group of running legs near the end. WentPro today but had a little trouble keeping it on my big head and had to adjust a couple times. Too much hair?

Morning commute. I did one flat mile with no traffic lights in 2:43, which is pretty darn good for me.

Cycling 45:45 [3] 10.8 mi (14.2 mph) +51m

Successfully outran the darkness.
