Running tempo 1:05:57 [4] 10.0 mi (6:36 / mi) +15m 6:34 / mi

10-mile flat trail tempo, aiming for 630ish pace. Had a minor existential crisis going into a headwind during miles six and seven and almost called it a 10k, but persevered, then gritted through a side ache in mile nine. One of my better efforts despite not feeling great physically. My calf started hurting near the end and is now in much pain, hopefully just soreness.

Vetting Cascade's annual Vampire-O instead of running, because I'm afraid of getting injured and because scary things come out in the dark. Not to mention, I'm just too darn juicy of a target.

Easy BT loop. Once again hubris has been my downfall, as disdain for the Owl Attack signs has led me straight into an ambush. If I were a rodent, I might've been killed. Joke's on the owls though - my head only looks like a rodent. New plan: the owls always come from behind, so wear GoPro facing backward and catch those bastards in the act (plus get some dope footage). Time to take the fight to the enemy.
