Note

Definitely should have gone for a run today, but didn't. Am now doing a long stint in the Sacramento airport. There are several women's crew teams also here: Gonzaga, Washington, Texas. The Longhorns are all wearing matching outfits that include mid-shin leather cowboy boots, which seems extremely stereotypical and maybe even a bit degrading.

Also, why did the scarecrow earn a Nobel Prize?

He was outstanding in his field.

Running 25:28 [3] 3.19 mi (7:59 / mi) +10m 7:54 / mi

Slightly hungover mini-run with a couple friends. Location: Stockton, California.

Running 57:05 [3] 7.67 mi (7:27 / mi) +25m 7:22 / mi

Didn't feel good during this run; legs were a little dead and stomach was unsettled. And it was too hot. On the plus side, it's now officially feasible to jump in the lake at the end of a run.

When will running start feeling easier? The answer, turns out, is never. How encouraging!

SOOOOOOUNDERS

What's the most exotic place you've exercised/gone running? Mine would be an Omani beach on the Indian Ocean, which I think is pretty respectable, but y'all prolly got some good ones too.

Ride home. I went through a horde of bugs and got some stuck in my eye, now it's super irritated and doing some reeeeal weird stuff.

Ran my Robinswood courses as a set of fast O-tervals, with 3-4 minutes rest in between. Apparently my third couse, which was longer, was also faster. I need to fit some worthwhile speed sessions into the next 2-3 weeks before Boston sprint camp; this was a good start.

Afterward I meant to roll across the street and scout out Bellevue College for sprint venue suitability, but I forgot.

June is going to be pretty bananas travel-wise for me, mostly because of orienteering. Over five of the next six weekends I'll be in Sacramento, Boston, Eastern Washington, Boise...and the Yukon?
