Orienteering race 43:39 [4] *** 6.4 km (6:49 / km) +140m 6:09 / km
29c

The Kiwis are the Sprint King and Queen, winning today's men's and women's races by ~10:00 combined. Jourdan had a great run and crushed second place (me) by six minutes, with an angry Latvian and a cramping, dead-legged Eric another couple back.

I made 3-4 minutes of mistakes on 8, 10, 13, 24, and 26, and also felt generally sluggish after partaking in a few too many festivities last night. Sometimes the classic "fun vs. performance" conflict is won by fun. Still, grabbing the lamest second place ever means I'm still ahead in the overall standings.

Awesome new sprint map, really fun course.

Will - 295
Jourdan - 287
Peteris - 277
Eric - 272

Easy run around Bridle Trails. #getyourmilesin

I've discovered that Jourdan runs at BT in my own backyard three times a week. The nerve, the outrage! Moving in on my territory like that. Why I oughta.

Left my headlamp on the fence next to the track, told myself not to forget it. Sure enough, got halfway home before I wondered why everything seemed so dark.
