Another one for the good guys! 0:17 ahead of our new Kiwi friend, 0:48 ahead of Brother Eric. Jourdan had the best speed today and got me on most of the pure running legs, but I had better route choices than the other guys on 4 and 10, which allowed me to hold onto my dwindling lead through the finish.

After the run I introduced myself to Jourdan and talked with him a bit. A job at Microsoft brings him to Seattle, but our recent out-of-character week of sub-zero temperatures has given him the hilarious idea that it gets cold here in the wintertime.

It's exciting to have another formidable foe on the local scene! Perhaps we can convince him to join Cascade and unleash hell at the next Relay Champs...

Also, congrats to Gina on her first career WIOL victory. My prediction is looking good!

Today I've gone into the wayback machine and prepared a rudimentary document which, other than being of interest to no one but myself, details the entirety of my participation in Cascade's Winter Series, a total of 30 events.

Bullet points:
-- Exactly half my finishes are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
-- One of my finishes was 33rd.
-- For some reason I do well at Shoreview. Sammamish power!
-- I've attended at least one event every year since 2006-07. Hopefully 2014-2015 will be the first year I attend every event.
-- I had way too much fun researching this.

Now why the blue Jesus did we trade Michael Saunders!?!? Right after the Mariners do an exciting yet iffy thing they go and do a blatantly dumb thing. Argh, this is horrible.

I got all kinds of lost today, so I started thinking about some weird stuff. Like, what if, instead of being all pure and white, snow was black. That'd be kinda terrifying, right? But not as terrifying as this place. Worst orienteering venue in the world, eh?
