Running race 17:08 [4] 2.93 mi (5:51 / mi) +15m 5:45 / mi

Hopelink Turkey Trot 5K. The course was definitely short to some degree - my watch said 2.93, the guy behind me had three miles even, so who knows. Still, even if we want to be conservative and add as much as 60-70s, I'm ahead of my high school PR. So, success!

Splits:
5:43 - good.
5:58 - bad, but includes most of the climb on the course.
5:26 (0.93; 5:51/mile) - disappointing, should have done better.

Surprisingly, I finished second, 8-10 seconds behind the leader; didn't have quite enough in me to stay with him. A little unfortunate that there weren't more guys as fast/faster than me to help keep pace. I felt quite good for the most part - this race was much less miserable than I remember HS XC races being.
