An exploratory gallivant around Westcrest Park. Not a great place for running because it's pretty small and the trails are squiggly, but it would make a great park sprint map - though there is an off-leash area smack in the middle of it. At one point I turned a corner and came upon a massive pit bull standing in the trail looking at me, no one else in sight, so for a hot second I said well I guess today's the day my calf gets ripped off my leg like a chicken drumstick. Luckily, the owner then came into view; I looked askance at him but didn't say anything because I couldn't be entirely sure I hadn't somehow strayed into the off-leash area. I am aware that pit bulls are generally nice dogs like any other so I'm ashamed to say that the stereotype was the first thing that came into my mind.
So, to summarize the mapping potential:
Pros Interesting trails; other interesting stuff; hills
Cons Rogue pit bulls that might rip your calf off your leg like a chicken drumstick*
