Note
(rest day)

Unplanned rest days = :(

On the bright side, evened up my Mariners record at 2-2 on the season with a big 12-4 win over the Rays. Even better, after the game they had a fireworks show which was advertised as "The Sound of Seattle," so obviously they were going to sample a selection of local music which would provide a data point for my Mount Rushmore hypothesis. Assuming a 10-15min show, a generally chronological order, and only the most popular of the popular, here's what my predictions were:

Hendrix, "Purple Haze"
Alice in Chains, "Rooster"
Soundgarden, "Black Hole Sun"
Pearl Jam, "Even Flow"
Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Macklemore, "My Oh My"

And the actual playlist:

The Ventures, "Walk Don't Run"
Hendrix, "Fire"
Heart, "Barracuda"
Alice in Chains, "Would?"
Pearl Jam, "Black"
Soundgarden, "Spoonman"
Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

They threw a couple curveballs in there, but still got five of the bands right, one song spot-on (albeit the biggest gimme possible). I figured they'd finale with "My Oh My" since it's literally a song about the Mariners, but they didn't stray from the grunge theme.
