Training Log Archive: BigWillyStyle

Well that was brutal. Our starting center (who shoots 58%, just won the award for best center in the country, and is the winning-est player in college basketball history) went 1-8 in the final game of his career, our best player (who's probably about to leave for the NBA) got fouled out of the game with fully eight minutes left on at least two profoundly terrible calls (for real, the refs absolutely and inexcusably murdered the second half of the game - for both teams, but it hurt us way more), and our second-best player/primary ball handler/heart and soul of the team (who might also leave) rolled his ankle with two minutes left in a tie game when we needed him most - and we still came within a possession arrow of beating North flipping Carolina. The defense was there as usual, but too many unforced turnovers and too many missed shots that we usually make.

Sucks because UNC was not better than us, and it's so rare to have a team that's one of the best two or three in the country; who knows if/when we'll ever see that again. But hey, we made it to the championship, which is amazing!
