WIOL 6, The Ebey. It seemed to me that with only 12 controls and a bit of an overabundance of trail running, the course didn't take full advantage of what the venue has to offer. Still, 6-7-8-9 was a nice string of tricky legs with non-obvious route choices.
I lost time in the green leaving 1 and 7-8, and bailing on my route to 7, but had a generally clean run overall and was a bit surprised to see Jourdan clear me by two minutes. All things being equal I think he has a little more pure speed than I do (not that that's uncommon). I foresee him in the money at Sprint Camp, possibly challenging for a top-three. He's also going to be my travel buddy for Team Trials, which is fantastic.
Gina and I are gallantly attempting to hold the Kiwis off in the season standings, but they are closing...fast. Good news (for me) is I only need a second place at the last race to clinch. Ironically, this is thanks to the grumpy Latvian taking second way back at WIOL 1. Additional good news: calf didn't bother me at all.
