Scheyville minigaine - 3hr solo

Wasn't in the best frame of mind going into this, not super excited, and not well rested, but moved ok for the first 30mins or so, running with James and Keelan for the start (although i shouldn't have).
Made some mistakes early, but still with keelan until 45mins or so where our routes split.
After an hour was pretty much cooked and thinking of pulling out, instead changed my route to be more conservative and headed to the drinks station that i had planned on skipping.
enjoyed the rest as much as i could, but was very dehydrated and unfed by the end... deciding to skip 50 points or so just to get home earlier, finishing 5 mins early and 5th behind Andy, Aurelian, Keelan, ?Ivan?
Nav was ok, a couple of 5 min errors/wrong decisions, but otherwise good for a rogaine.

For the next one just need to not follow the start and back myself in the long run a bit more.

A pretty average display, but everyone seemed to get as dehydrated as i did, so i guess it was just the conditions.
3L water incl 600ml tailwind. 2 gels 1 bar.

After the finish drank 3L, 2burgers, 2banana, 1 apple, 1 cake, 1 bar, 1 protein shake... i guess i was definately underfed/underwatered

longer lunch run around taronga zoo.
Tried a 4min/2min fartlek by effort. the cutover often happened in the middle of uphill efforts etc but stuck to the clock, meaning some efforts downhill etc.
good session, and a good way to get a longer run out of limited time.

Commute home via CP and 'the chop' came slamming past. jumped into the bunch and stayed with them for 3 laps before concentration lapsed and fell off the back. had to get home for dinner anyway. crazy how much benefit you get riding in a bunch.

TT bike in Centennial on the way to work.
Did 4x laps with a half laps receovery

All around 6mins which is pretty good considering i rode them around threshold rather than all-out. Legs a bit tired from the start but warmed up when i started relaxing through the stroke.
Nasty commute to work along oxford st at that time, should have stayed a little longer.

8x600s on wharf 1. times from 1:52-1:56 which is about right.
Good session on not-so-fresh legs. Achilles pretty sore afterwards.
Tried to up the cadence while not shortening stride.

tried doing 1min high cadence, 1min long strides (range of motion), repeat 8x. felt really good for recovery.

Mt Keira hillclimb. 2 seconds faster than last time with a heavier bike and wearier legs. good sign! Almost threw up on the decent, but still could go a little bit quicker knowing the climb a bit better.
