Morning ride on the new bike! Jeez this thing accelerates! GPS ruined the first segment, and a van blocked maze hill, but a couple of things already feel amazing on the new steed

Ravens intervals. Was supposed to be 6*1km, but was too busy trying to stick with the leaders that i was way too fast. Pulled out at 3.8 reps. So previously, I had clocked my max HR at around 186, which i'd only hit on 2 occassions. This run I spent a lot of time around 183-187 (98-101% of max) on the run, and felt it (short of breath etc), suggesting that i might be on the verge of getting sick (which i already suspected), so didn't really want to push it. Will try and get a full night sleep tonight. disappointing to not finish the workout, but made the right call Left hip and knee giving a bit of grief as well, but nothing to worry about.
Bealech Na Ba loop. This one took in the biggest climb - Bealech. Felt great for the first half of the climb which is under 10% and pulled the group, but couldn't quite hold the wheel for the >10% section where i struggled with low cadence. Felt great for the second half of the ride and was constantly dropping the other two, which, again, probably comes from ultra/mara training. Could have ridden a lot further, but was time to head home.
Overall a great weekend, and great to see i've got good long-distance endurance. Would pay to get a bit more leg strength and low-cadence work for those drawn out steeper sections earlier in the day. Stoked, as this is the first time i've ever seemed a bit stronger than Drew and Booter on the bike. Definate progress.
