Farewell ride with Prong and Pete
Some reasonable RP hotlaps, there were some big groups out, so some good (sometimes sketchy) bunch riding.
Then a reasonable swains effort (Prong smashed it but had his garmin off) before coffee.

The others went home and i did a couple of RP laps (i miss that place) before heading home

Great to be back on the bike, but missing the more relaxed geometry of Dad's Giant...

Recovery + Strides.
Achilles still feeling a little damp, but...
if i don't get this week done, i'm basically into taper with no confidence, and no marker for where i'm at. This'll make taper horribly anxious, and if i can't get a full week's training in now, i probably should pull out.
I've missed a critical race pace run, and a critical long run, so as per Ben's suggestion, will mainly concentrate on those over the next 2 weeks and everything else will play 2nd fiddle.
I'll also try to supplement any missing miles with more conditioning & yoga.

Recovery run to test out the achilles.
got some voltaren on the sucker pre and post (especially to help with fluid from jetlag).
Felt pretty much fine for the first 5k, and was a twinge for the last 5.

Fairly happy, will continue to ice etc, but think i really need to fill this week for my confidence, otherwise i'm already into taper.
