orienteering 29:26 [5] 5.5 km (5:21 / km) +50m 5:07 / km

Relay. 6th overall.
Set off nicely into sixth position i think. One was fine but two bad direction cost me around 30 seconds. Ok just steady through to number 6 where i jumped ahead a control. Realised a little into the le. I think i dropped just over two minutes here which was very frustrating. From here it was ok. After spectator the Hungarian last leg runner caught me and breezed past (same person i raced in the summer). Made it into the finish slightly disappointed with my personal run but very pleased on hearing result. Brilliant round off to a fantastic weekend of racing

orienteering race 44:30 [5] 8.5 km (5:14 / km) +100m 4:57 / km

EYOC long. 17th.
Set off reasonably well. Number one i took steadily. A bit far right but soon corrected. Number two ran hard along the track, not thinking and cutting in a bit too soon meaning i had to hack through the dark green... Safely into the control. Good to three just not especially fast. Both four and five i lost some time on. Very close to 4 without seeing and to number five i managed to interpret the contours slightly wrong, overshot it and lost another 40seconds or so. Easy through the next few just with some dodgey direction. To number 10 lost time trying to pick off features and not doing a very good job of it. Very unsure of my position about three quarters into the leg so decided to be safe, came out onto the path and off the knoll. Eleven fine but twelve very slow making sure i got right. Ok from here on in. Slightly disappointed with the run at the end but looking back very pleased with position now.

orienteering 15:48 [4] 3.0 km (5:16 / km) +100m 4:31 / km

EYOC sprint. 70th place.
First start and was feeling the pressure. Number one just wasn't processing the map in front of me at all. Over a minute lost. Then i was just scrappy and poor for a large number of controls. I can safely say i am not a sprinter, definitely not before some specific training anyway!
Intensity four, couldn't run fast with any control

orienteering 20:00 [2] 3.5 km (5:43 / km) +50m 5:20 / km

Bit of a leg stretcher. Feeling rubbish from the travelling. A lot fresher now though.

running 29:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:50 / km) +40m 4:41 / km

Reasonably easy with 5 strides in. Feeling quite tired to start but shook it off by the end. The normal feeling when you come back to school after the holidays!
