Crawl up to the top car park

Run from the top car park at Cairngorm. Ben Macdui, Ben Vane and Cairngorm to finish. Feeling tired but loved it. Walking all the steep climbs and most of the way down the back of Ben Vane as I was wearing trainers to protect my shins:L didn't race the train down as I knew I would have smashed it;) actually just didn't want to risk it wearing trainers which meant I was going over on my ankle every now and then.

Just being a general idiot before the British:P

Run up Bynack More. Nice run and was made to push pretty hard on both climbs by James. Was running reasonably fast on the descent as Tortoise Tam was pushing the pace.

First leg relay. Set off ok but small route choice lost a bit of time to the front. Got back near them on the long path before tangling myself in a fence and losing them for a bit... Held on before losing some time on eleven. Bit disappointing to have let down a very competitive team.

Scottish championships. Set off very steady and kept this up for most of the course. Was taking the running especially easy trying to get it right and often not quite managing... Overshot two. Number seven I got my direction slightly wrong and missed. Next few ok but taking the running reasonably steady. Thirteen I didn't go quite far enough and lost maybe 20 seconds. Same with 14 before losing a reasonable amount of time on fifteen by stupidly going quite a way off my line to check another control:L from sixteen to seventeen I ran to 22 which was very annoyingly right on the line. Stood there confused for a bit before continuing. Slight miss on twenty and then pushed quite hard down the hill to 21 just to stand about five metres short of it and trying to realign myself with the fences... Last few were ok before I messed up the last control. Ran to the string course which was annoyingly placed close by:P so a reasonable amount of time loss at a not very convincing pace but loved the area which made a great change to the open slogs I have been getting used to:L

Pretty easy, fast session today. 2x 6x diagonals. Then 70m shuttle runs for ten minutes before six laps of stride the straights and jog the bends. Feeling alright and keeping up with the front fast guys on such a short session. Need more of it:L

Estimated climb and distance. A steady run with some efforts up some hills and a lot of stop starting. Absolutely roasting out, or at least for me it was. Totally lashed by the dry branches coming back down through the wood so shower was a bit of a stinger:L should have brought my phone as there were some pretty nice photo opportunities with the wood being impressively dark. Nice run anyhow

Around the back road. Easy for the most part apart from a small section in the middle where I pushed a bit. Feeling pretty tired generally:L there were loads of flies which I had to run through and it was weirdly hot. Not the nicest of runs!
Also suppose it is worth a mention that I have just been doing a little upper body strength work each day. This is so I can feel like it is actually doing something whilst I am running instead of just flopping around aimlessly.

SoSol number something. First half was pretty scrappy and my running was a bit lazy due to some pretty wrecked legs. Caught Alex at the end of the long leg due to an impressively bad route from him;) the second half of the course was just a brutal head to head up and down some unpleasantly steep hills:P dropped him by maybe ten seconds up the hill to the third last control and then screwed up the downhill run in:P I reckon Alex was a bit sneaky here though by not using the marked crossing point:P still a nice, warm run. I am now seriously missing some nice forest o!

Run alone up past the inn and onto the hill for a little bit. Turned around at 45 minutes as it was getting pretty late:P was planning on just heading to the monument but was too nice not to lengthen it!

Glasgow urban. Went reasonably well apart from being pretty scrappy through the middle. Kept on nearly catching the guy in front before being halted by a stream of cars. I reckon he got pretty lucky:P tiring a lot through the middle but managed to find a bit more for the end again.
Shins are a lot better, still sore to touch but coped with this race totally fine!

In and out. Was going to go for a long one today but seem to have developed some sort of shin splints. I think it has something to do with the shoes I wore up dumyat which cause my feet to roll inwards quite a lot. Won't do any harm letting myself recover anyway:L

Dumyat hill race. Started off reasonably conservatively and then didn't push majorly hard until quite late on the climb. Not sure of time to the top as all the watch I was using managed to do was piss me off. I had to stop it beeping every 45 seconds, turns out some timer was set... Pushed quite hard on the descent and managed to catch and pass three to put me into third. More pleased with the time though. Nearly three minutes faster than last year in probably slightly worse conditions :P

Most importantly I beat my dad's PB:L

Not feeling the most lively after a few late nights. Got on with it though:L started out far too fast as per usual but settled into an ok pace. Really bad patch 5-8 km. Chest tightened up pretty badly which is the first time that has ever happened. Ended up running one of the kilometres around there in about 4.20. Then felt a lot better and started pushing again. Not the best time but a good session! Winner ran 38:O
