Note

I have told myself i will do strength work on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Monday from now on.

running 48:00 [3] 11.25 km (4:16 / km) +110m 4:04 / km

Ran out the door without much of an idea of what i was going to do. I ran around the roads which felt easy bar the first five minute where i was struggling below 5 min/k. Then settled into and it felt easy enough apart from a couple of the hills where my quads were feeling tired. Nice run and throat is pretty much fully recovered. Just the occasional tickle

First run i have been too hot in a while

Looked out the window and it was sunny. I thought a recovery jog would be a nice break from revision but about 30 seconds into the run it started hailing and i got really cold. Continued for a little bit before giving up and coming back only to see the sun out again. Ah well.

Cycling to and from dunblane. Took less than six minutes to pilates. Am really enjoying having this bike! Although quads are feeling pretty burnt out now from the cycling and that course yesterday. Not sure they ever fully recovered from that long in Portugal. Flat tomorrow

Sol 3. 5.8km with .320m climb. I had a reasonably clean run. Went out slow and took the middle section quite hard before slowing again before the end. Two minutes or so lost, too low for five and then hesitant on 10 amd13. Won by a couple of minutes over a partially crippled sasha but still a very pleasing result. Feeling far more solid with my navigation now.

Up dumyat from the very top car park. Mum dad and Clare were going up so thought i might as well tag along. Few detours from the path.

Ran until it didn't feel easy. Quite please that this felt easy. Was expecting it to be slower as it felt so (wasn't looking at garmin). Hopefully fully well now

Brilliant week in Portugal. Really pleased with my races with a seventh position on both days. I missed the podium by a total of nine seconds on both days which was a bit annoying but great week. world schools

Really enjoyable friendship relay with a Slovenia guy and a girl from Belgium. Twentieth out of one hundred and fifty or something so was a good result:) i did the worst out of the group i think i lost a minute going to one of the wrong controls again!

An incredibly tough race. Tired from if start and the heat started affecting me from around four. Dodgy route choice to five but still got it without wasting too much time and then clean but slow through to the drinks control. Quick drink then a cup over my head before running on feeling refreshed,this lasted for around half a minute and by thirteen i was destroyed. Lost some time on the next couple of controls, just losing control due to being so tired. Coming through to the fourth to last control i think i was in fourth. I was feeling totally destroyed and for the first time in a long time i stopped still for about ten seconds resting. Pretty pathetic. This had allowed for a good look at my map and i pushed on to eighteen feeling confident. Half was i must have lost some focussed and i found myself going down the hill towards nineteen. I realised this when at nineteen and took eighteen fine before going for it back to nineteen (i knew where it was and for this reason think i may have got fastest split:L). Three seconds off sixth place today which again is a bit annoying but pleased with the consistency of my results which i have lacked a lot recently.

I was quite pleased with this race comparing it to recent performances but still a bit gutted to miss out on a top six podiumish finish by two seconds. A clean race to control ten where i was going strong before i binned a minute and twenty seconds on thirteen. Not enough contact with the map and suddenly had overshot with not quite enough knowledge of my position to relocate effectively. Tooled around for a bit before relocating. Annoyed after the clean start to my race and then again on 13 i lost maybe another forty. From here to the spectator was fine and clean. After the spectator i was scrappy and lost probably half a minute in the last few controls just little misses. Pleased with result though!

18.8 km with a friend on new roadish bike. Really looking forward to starting doing a reasonable amount of cross training on it. He had just raced the youth tour of Scotland and was v tired. I still had trouble keeping up!

Throat feeling better but still felt it a tiny bit on run. Fine now though

Brisk run around uncles town. Went a bit fast but just couldn't help it as was so cold just wanted to get home! Some horrible headwinds accompanied by a few much needed tailwinds!

orienteering 1:01:30 [3] 13.6 km (4:31 / km) +20m 4:29 / km

Run around an old oxford simplified street O. Score course for one hour and i took it reasonably easy due to the very hard last few days! I still pushed to get it under the hour at the end, failing miserably. Really enjoyable as the first flat run for a while. Rest tomorrow as i really need it!

Mens short. A very fast paced race, just tailing Matthew E the whole way. He towed me along with Ali and i came in second a few seconds down. pleased with this and the team finished seventh!
