At Emery Park. Temp was about 4F, winds SW13, sunny. I was not uncomfortable at all. Parked near "Field House" - road was only plowed to that point. Unfortunately the building was locked. Not enough business expected on a weekday I guess. Followed other people's tracks mostly. Un tracked powder was too deep to be much fun. Even where there were tracks the edges were soft and deep which affected the effectiveness of the poles. The tracks mostly followed roads which was OK. Off in the woods there were snowshoe "ditches" which were pretty passable. Got down to the downhill ski area (not operating) but had fun on the packed hills. Crossed over to the south side of the park where there were snowmobile trails to follow which was great. Could have skated there. Hated the road crossing with undoing the skiis. Managed the high banks OK. On the south side saw the only other human - a snowmobiler. Waved. I am thinking for this kind of skiing a set of backwoods gear would be more appropriate. Hate the idea of spending the money.

Running on snow covered roads and sidewalks in the neighborhood and the next neighborhood over. Footing was much better on the sidewalks. A lap of the park as well. Finished downwind, which was nice. Got dark but I had on my reflective vest. Kind of a struggle physically and the pace wasn't much higher than a brisk walk.
