Happy Holidays from all of us to one and all.

Funny how the little dog thinks because you are on the floor (doing crunches) it means you want to play with him. So you do. We tossed and fetched every tenth crunch. Here's Dewey with his crocodile.

running tempo 26:14 [4]
shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra

Lucky to get in a run on a busy day. Ran with Ben who's in town with Amanda for the holidays. My one mile tempo was 8:11 which was probably a slow jog for him. He was very patient though. You gotta be when you're a twenty something running with a sixty something. He said he enjoyed it. I know I did.

Note

I can't believe it, Folk Alley is playing a song by Carla Bruni. Formidable!

Saw the sun set today as I was exercising. Or rather, saw that I can't see the sun when it sets at this time of year. It sets behind the big building across the street. I never noticed that before. Usually you can't see the sun at all in Buffalo at this time of year. Like super cloudy most of the time.

So we got through the day with the shortest daytime. Looking forward to more and more sun in the days ahead. Clouds willing.

Lovely day. The running felt slow but was probably in the target zone for long runs. Temp = 29 F, wind = N 6 mph, WC = 23 F. I guess I'm recovered from URI.

Note

I've been giving some thought to attending the Event Advisor Clinic in BC this summer. It would mean a greater commitment to orienteering. And the focus wouldn't be on me anymore. I'd be doing it to give something back to the sport. It's a big decision.

It does not look like we'll have a white Christmas this year. Forecast is for sunshine until Friday and then freezing rain. Oh well. Gentle flakes coming down at the moment.

(sick)

Back at it since my URI has subsided. I'll claim sickness until the occasional cough disappears. The runny nose lasts all winter anyway.

I just felt like it after the pushups and weights.

(sick)

Did the calisthenics after waking up from my nap in the afternoon. Felt like a really good time to do it. Freed up the AM. Woke me up from the nap. Listened to exponential radio from Philly.

Had to move a card table full of Christmas cookies in order to create room to lift weights. Barbara has been baking every day since a week ago. I'm all set for the big event. All the shopping is done. LLB still has to deliver one thing but I know they'll come through. I've never been this organized. I even had time to visit six stores looking for lights for the tree. To no avail. All sold out.
