Decided to run/walk (level 5, session 1) rather than go back to bed for a few minutes after taking Ben to the airport. Felt good. Listening to nothing.

Looks like I might have to declare a rest day today. Ben flew in from NYC last night for meetings today for the campaign. His plane was late and we had to drop his boss at the Hyatt and we had a lot to talk about, so we got to bed about midnight. Tonight he's staying for the UB game against Ohio. That's the team that beat them for the Mid America Conference championship (and an automatic NCAA berth) by one point at the buzzer last year so it's gonna be a grudge match. The arena should be hopping. But the game starts late, at 8:00 PM (to accomodate TV), so it's going to be another late night tonight. And then tomorrow morning I've got to get him to the airport for a 6 AM flight back to the big city. I think I'll opt for a nap after work tonight instead of running, and maybe an early bedtime Friday night.

Usual routine. Tried a few situps, as opposed to crunches, and noticed groin is still tender. Might go back on a couple of weeks of anti-inflammatories.

Note

I realized this week that my wife Barbara does fartlek on the treadmill. She had never heard the word before and she thought it was hilarious. What she does is play around with the incline and the speed randomly. She'll up the incline for a minute or so and drop it back and then raise it higher at the same time playing with the speed up and down. Classic fartlek.

Listening to the classical music station. Nice sunny day yesterday - a rare treat this time of year.

Level 4, session 3, catching up. Listening to a mix our son Adam compiled. Recognized White Stripes, Nora Jones, "sunscreen" speech, some original "Garage Band" cuts.
