Trail running 1:55:01 [3] 10.62 mi (10:50 / mi) +230m 10:09 / mi
shoes: On Cloudflow dark grey

I "connected" 4 conservation preserves starting at the campground, out the road (1 mile) to Bery Woods Preserve, then J & L Kemp Preserve, then the loop at Josephine Newman Sanctuary out and back to road access, then back to Kemp Preserve and finally on the road to the Webber Kelly Preserve. I was not sure I would be able to do the whole Grand Tour, but being quite scenic, plus not too hot (~ 60 ), it was a very pleasant run.

jogging 15:00 [2] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi) +15m 9:42 / mi

Running to and from car dealer to leave Subaru for Oil change.
5 PM

Trail running 1:06:41 [3] 6.19 mi (10:46 / mi) +100m 10:15 / mi
shoes: New Balance MT 910 sz 9

From Wiswall through Littlejohn area. The N trail sections are reestablishing themselves after the grand logging of last winter. Looks like the horse people have been busy spreading manure/horse poop mix which makes for wonderfully soft underfooting. All muddy sections were dried out - they talk about impending drought conditions in NH - good for running. I explored what looked like a new loop at the N end of one of the farm fields, where I had skied in late winter. Otherwise I cruised around the usual sections to train on the hills multiple times. Nice cool afternoon (60) so I tempoed the last two miles (44 minutes to end) with under 10 min/mile.

Orienteering race 57:49 [3] *** 3.0 mi (19:16 / mi) +80m 17:48 / mi
spiked:7/14c shoes: VJ Falcon w spikes

Ahern SP event. My goal was to orienteer smart and fast. Well good luck with that! Since it hadn't rain in Durham, I extrapolated the condition to Laconia. I should have noticed the big puddles on the dirt road into the park. In my careless running I brushed agains the wet branches and leaves thus, starting around # 3, my glasses were severely fogging up which lasted until about # 10. My shirt was also soaked, and I did not bring a hanky nor my drying fan. Grrr.

Minor bobbles to 2 and 3 just not used to the 5000 scale. Lost over 4 min to 4, just tyring to wipe my glasses, misjudging the distance, etc. The passage E and W back and forth from 4 to 7 also confused me. The trail N of the tooth-shaped marsh did not match the map. Finally I lost 6 minutes to 7, by drifting into the northerly reentrant and then came across lots of unmapped features. Tried to relocate, but sort-of randomly stumbled on the windy trail N of the control. Afterwards it was easier, and I could run hard, which helped clear out my glasses. The trail crossing the powerline near 12 was mismapped, which prompted me to run further (+ 2 min). Really spiked it in a mad dash from 13 to 14 to finish. This could have been done in 42 minutes. Fun nevertheless.
