Classic Skiing 42:00 [2] 2.93 mi (14:20 / mi) +30m 13:54 / mi
shoes: Atomic Cross Cap

I tested the snow: at 30 F it was crusty but soft. So I figured I'd go out classical. Towards the Spruce Wood access, then the connector through the woods out to the N fields. Surprisingly the fields were solidly firm. My wax waned, so made my way back (up hill) via the woods. We lost about 4 inches since Thursday. But still good.
10 AM

Skate Skiing 35:00 [2] 3.3 mi (10:36 / mi) +50m 10:08 / mi
shoes: Atomic Skate RS9

Then out on the skaters. Woods were too soft, except over thin spots, So basically repeated the morning loop, but putzed around on the fields, both fields were superb. Then up the access road home. (Garmin had stopped, all estimated)
6 PM

Road Running 1:17:22 [3] 10.0 mi (7:44 / mi) +135m 7:26 / mi
shoes: On Cloud grey-black

It was time for a long run. To Lee, over Lee Hook, back to PFR, then via Wednes. Hill Rd and Toon Lane back home. Exactly 10 miles with a 100m extra out and back. I am trying to test how my feet hold up for such a run. Fortunately the road shoulders were nice and soft after a warm day. So only about 40% pavement. All seemed ok and I was only slightly sore afterwards.

Road Running 18:42 [2] 2.3 mi (8:08 / mi) +40m 7:43 / mi
shoes: On Cloud grey-black

Running home - slipping and sliding up the dam cutoff, then forcing a bit of tempo b/c I felt like it and I was hungry - let's get home quickly....

Classic Skiing 57:00 [2] 3.6 mi (15:50 / mi) +65m 14:59 / mi
shoes: Atomic Cross Cap

The big "NorEaster" had drifted S, so we just got a wimpy inch + 1/2, but it was still snowing. Figured it would be ok for classic, and it was. In fact it was fantastic! I could ski anywhere, on-track, off-track - Excellent kick with just a bit of VR 50, and good glide. (Still lost time pulling more bent trees out of the snow pack). Still a solid 1-foot pack out there with no vegetation showing. Best conditions all season!
8 AM

Classic Skiing 45:00 [2] 2.01 mi (22:23 / mi) +15m 21:53 / mi
shoes: Atomic Cross Cap

Then out with Oliver on my back. He stayed awake longer, but then started snoozing. Eventually Nancy joined us, so we went for another loop. Unfortunately just as I was getting off the skis, the town Garbage truck went by very fast and its god-awful noise woke O up. Our hopes for him continuing a long nap afterwards were smashed!

And back a while later through downtown with stop at Pauly's for a "pocket to go" for lunch

Classic Skiing 43:00 [2] 2.71 mi (15:52 / mi) +20m 15:31 / mi
shoes: Atomic Waxless

Ski to work via W Foss Farm. Lots!! of trees still bound into the snowpack. Quite annoying. Took me longer than expected. Otherwise good granular conditions, not slow at all. Bare patches developing in sun exposed areas.
5 PM

Classic Skiing 41:00 [2] 2.51 mi (16:20 / mi) +35m 15:39 / mi
shoes: Atomic Waxless

Skiing home the same route. I did not dare to venture through College Woods, as the narrow trail may be even more obstructed than the trails on the Foss Farm route. Nice and mild, a little more slushy than on the way in, but still quite good. Slow going again around the "obstacles".

Skate Skiing 28:56 [3] 3.08 mi (9:24 / mi) +40m 9:02 / mi
shoes: Atomic Skate RS9

Crust Cruising on Troy's field. Up and down and up and down in the sunset until my shadow was getting so long I could see myself on the next hill. Then it was time to go home. A little too soft in the troughs and in the woods. The approach was slow going.
