Skate Skiing 31:30 [2] 2.9 mi (10:52 / mi)
shoes: Atomic Skate RS9

Contrary to popular believe our snowcover is still good and 100% connected once you get away from the road. Morning skate, 34F after several hours of drizzle etc. There were some sweet spots (nice solid base) and some crappy spots (too soft). Yet overall enjoyable - once warmed up, I was able to handle the sink'ins. 30 min was just right and all the time I had before participating at open house. (at work).

shoes: New Balance MT 101 sz 9

Longish run, 95% on gravel - sand - leaf shoulder. Wednesday Hill to Lee to Lee Hook, to Wiswall and back home via Packer's Falls Rd. Bright day, breezy, 35 F. Perfect! Was comfortable the entire way, just a hint of tired legs during the last two miles.

Skate Skiing 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +80m 9:14 / mi
shoes: Atomic Skate RS9

Finally the snow pack is solidifying after a warm day (50F) and a slight freeze-over (28F) overnight. Perfect on Troy's field! Access to and from was too soft in the woods, so just needed to double pole, which was a bit hard in the beginning. Love crust cruising...

Classic Skiing 35:00 [2] 3.0 mi (11:40 / mi)
shoes: Atomic NX Waxless

Then switched over to classic, which was even better. Tracks were fine for the most part, Skied around Spruce hole, down to the logged area, up and down teleturning and back around the logging cuts. Getting a little soft and slow at the end as temps are climbing to about 45F.

Road Running 46:00 [2] 5.5 mi (8:22 / mi) +120m 7:50 / mi
shoes: New Balance Road

Evening run to Lee and back, over the "7 hills". Extra loops around Allen Way and Lamprey Lane. Pleasant evening ~ 40 F. Did some hill intervals. Legs felt good. It took me about 1.5 miles to get into the swing of things. Could have added another 2 miles but it was getting dark and I was mighty hungry.

Road Running 18:00 [2] 2.2 mi (8:11 / mi) +20m 7:57 / mi

Around the block - a quicky before going to the concert.

XC Skiing 45:00 [2] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi) +30m 12:31 / mi
shoes: Karhu BC Tele Skis

Was hoping for a nice evening ski with temps at around 34 F. However it was a bit too early. Snow solidification was intermittent, which meant I sank in too much. Conditions were reasonable in some hard-packed drifted snow areas, such as around the rim of the pit. Also much better on the return. Would have probably been best at around 9 pm. Snow is just still too soft underneath. We need a more serious melt/freeze cycle here, Same for maple syriuping I guess.
