Orienteering race 1:08:46 [4] 11.77 km (5:51 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

RK OY - Fusilier - 10.1Km
First time I've bit in a fit state to run a non-sprint race normally this year, and was dreadful. Struggled with the navigation all the way (though there was a lot of very vague stuff). On top of that, legs felt pretty awful - never felt like I was running fast and just felt really heavy through the terrain.
Small miss at 1 - didn't see control and wasn't confident enough that I was in the right place. Too far right at 2 and had misread the contours (45s ?). Bad miss on 4 - too far right (45s). Hopeless on 5. Now I've seen the GPS track, I realise why I struggled to relocate - climbed on to the wrong hill system and had to bail out - 4 mins lost! Lost 1 min on 15 through not using compass after climbing the slope and going the wrong side of a major depression. Caught Oli up at this stage and followed him for a bit to put some pressure on - he cracked in spectacular style on 18. I also lost about a minute there struggling with the vagueness of the contours.

In general compass work not good enough and didn't have good enough plans to pick up on location after crossing featureless areas. Good tricky course.

Cricket 1:05:00 [1]

Second day of the 2-dayer v Wainui. Wouldn't have played if we had more available, and batted at 10. 2 runs and given out caught behind after bat hit pad strap. Which just about sums the season up. A bit more exercise in the field than normal as not risking fielding in the slips.

Running 54:09 [5] 8.65 km (6:16 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

Hills. The 3-6-3 session. Very painful. Breathing still not back to 100%.

Cricket 1:30:00 [1]

Nets at Fraser. Finger still quite sore when batting, so might not play on Saturday.

Cycling 58:32 [3] 25.31 km (2:19 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop ACW
Legs felt tired at the start and an inconsistent wind didn't help. Felt very tired going up the hill so quite surprised to have got round in a reasonable time.

Running 1:06:33 [3] 11.48 km (5:48 / km) +297m 5:08 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

From Totara Park, the longer loop ACW extended to the West by going all the way down to the river junction then back up the river. Took a long time to get into it - felt slow and heavy for most of the first half. Gradually improved though and was running fairly well by the end.

Running 28:00 [3] 4.5 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Short Avian-Avro loop with a bit of exploring very near the end of the track down some routes which turned out to be dead ends.
Legs pretty tired as expected - this was just a run to loosen up a bit.
