Not surprisingly, the legs weren't really up for this. Hard work getting up the hill.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

From Cowshed Bay to Anakiwa. Did the first section along the road, but the remainder along the track.

Rather spoilt by the pedal assembly falling off the bike a little way along the track. We managed to sort of get it back on but from then on I could barely use my left leg which made even fairly simple uphills quite hard work. Shame as it was good biking, but the downhill section was really nice. Much less waiting around after the pedal fell off!

From Camp Bay to Cowshed Bay Campground.

Boys pace was a bit better today, but there was still a lot of stopping. Some more difficult biking - I don't have the technique to get up the steeper bits when there are rocks and roots involved. Total time about 6 hours.

Shadowing Oli's DofE group cycling the Queen Charlotte Track. Ben Milne, one of the teacher's was the other shadowing adult but we also had Kelly Dornbusch with us for this bit.

From Resolution Bay to Camp Bay campground. Very stop start - the boys had all sorts of problems as well as being very slow. Total time was about 4:40 but we stopped and had a coffee at Furneax Lodge in that time to try to let them get a bigger gap. Didn't work!

Down to Pinehaven, around, back up, then Avro.
Decided to get on the bike today as a bit stiff and sore, presumably from what little cricket I played on Saturday. Feeling tired - all a bit of a struggle.
