Orienteering race 1:06:08 [4] 8.0 km (8:16 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212 Black

IOC Long - Tawnawully - M50 - 6.8Km 360m
Much better course without any of yesterday's easy controls. But very physical all the way - a real struggle to keep moving at times. No big mistakes, but a few small time losses - 2 mins in total? Slightly surprised by the result.

Orienteering race 36:19 [4] 5.0 km (7:16 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212 Black

IOC Middle - Barnesmore Wind Farm - M50 - 4.5Km 160m

Poorly planned - far easier than it should have been with controls often visible from a long way away. First control visible from the start - just straight up the hill.

Terrain very slow and wet. Never felt much like a race and very difficult to tell how well it was going. Clean run apart from some time lost on 2 which was too high and consequently being too high approaching 3.

Orienteering race 10:59 [5] 3.0 km (3:40 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

IOC Sprint - M50 - Sligo

Very simple course so absolutely flat out the whole way. Painful. Heart problem kicked in just after finishing and lasted for 5-10 minutes. 8 seconds down on Dirk Goosens but could only have made up about 6 of those!

Running 50:58 [3] 10.0 km (5:06 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

Longest version of the HB - Forge Dam - Bingham Park Loop (i.e. the path up the spur from Forge Dam).

Feeling average. Conditions not great - a lot of rain overnight left all non-tarmac surfaces very slippery so had to go quite slowly at times.

Running 1:27:20 [3] 14.0 km (6:14 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212 Black

The Dark Peak loop from Cutthroat Bridge. Up and over the ridge and down to the reservoir. Then up the track to ..., straight across to Lost Lad, Back Tor and back.

One of those days when I hardly notice I'm running. Felt good all the way, though was a bit slow over some of the flagstones. Great being out there - didn't see anyone the whole way.
