Bouldering (alone) 2:00:00 [3]

Just bouldering alone, trying to get back into climbing after being sick for a week.

Bouldering (alone) 1:30:00 [3]

Just trying to get the muscles working again, tried boulder problems, on and off.

Bouldering 1:30:00 [4]

1x strop super hard
4x 10laps on jugs.

Sooo out of shape. Goal is to do 100 laps on jugs without resting, then I'll use smaller holds.

Then I also did 4 sets of leg lifts.

Forest Orienteering 3:00:00 [1]

Setting the other half of Quarry Lake, and checking downtown Canmore - updating that map.

Courses look awesome!!! I would compare them at least to NAOC/COC quality courses that I've ran in the past, if not better.

Forest Orienteering (AOA) 1:00:00 [5] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

Alberta orienteering championships. Raced against like 2 people on one occasion. Ran one course at Fish Creek and one at Bow Valley.

Note
(sick)

Starting to feel sick....

Climbing 2:00:00 [4]

Team trials. Got there at like 4:30, and spend like the hour and a half trying not to waste myself. Yet I onsighted nearly every C4, and did quite good on a couple C5's.

Running 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Shadowed a vetter to see how they would run the Elite course at Mount Royal.

Running race 12:00 [5] 3.0 km (4:00 / km)

Out of shape. Gotta train. Measly 17 place, at least it was out of like 125 people... I did get someone at the finish with my kick though so hah.

Strengthening 1:00:00 [4]

9, 8, 7, 7 -- close pull ups
10, 10, 8, 8, -- wide pull ups
3, 3, 3, 3, -- leg lift lock offs
3.6, 2.5, 1.5, 1.4 -- Leg lifts
| | | |
1|1, 1|1, 1|1, 1|1, -- one legged squats
10, 7, 7, 7, -- tricep pushups

Climbing 1:16:02 [5]

Okay, that is a bad exercise. Don't climb on a treadwall for and hour and 15 minutes without stopping, or drinking water. I think that I would classify it as "not fun".

Otherwise I did a stamina exercise; climbing on the treadmill for 76min (not a great idea).

Climbing (warm up) 30:00 [3]

Warmed up with some armswings, pullups and pushups. Then onsighted about 5 C4's. Felt good.

Running 12:45 [4] 3.0 km (4:15 / km)

Ran with the xc team. If I knew that the first couple guys would have gone so fast I would have put on my running shoes, and not wore jeans....

Sunday Sep 13, 2015 #

Climbing 1:30:00 [3]

Kind of broken up bouldering on our wall. Mainly though, I did like 4x5min on with 5min off.

Running 48:22 [5] 10.01 km (4:50 / km)

Ran down to River park from my school. Then ran down the steep hill, to the bridge, across it, left on the path, then up the hill, after which I took it easy for about 400m until I started back down. Then I ran to the bridge, and up the very steep hill (that wasn't fun) and continued back up the long straight, slightly sloped uphill. Finished with an extra loop around my school to account for the last 500m.

That run was too fast for me to keep up in a sustainable training week and so my aim will probably be keeping the run under 6min/km.

Climbing 2:00:00 [5]

Warmed up on treadmill (vertical). [All breaks were 5 min] 5on, then 15on. Then workout was: (10min/on)x5. Steeper intervals by, 1,2,1,1,1.

Running 18:00 [4] 4.0 km (4:30 / km)

Easy run with school. I'm out of shape. :(

Climbing 2:45:00 [4]

Really good training. Warmed up to reaffirm my lack of grip strength. Then moved on to do sixes on a single C3, rests were weird; 30s, 1min, 1.5min, 2min, 3min, 3min, 2.5min, 2min, 1.5min, 1min, 30s. After that I did 5min on and 5mins off 5x on the treadwall (intensity about 4/5).

Climbing 2:30:00 [4]

First hour was kind of lazy, just trying hard routes, until I decided that I should probably do a proper training. The result was 10min on, 5min off on the tread wall 4 times. (intensity 3/5)

Climbing 4:00:00 [4]

Lead a couple of routes. Then got on the auto belay and climbed 20ish minutes nonstop up a 5.10c/d, then down a 5.9+.

Then bouldered hard problems, didn't get alot of them. Finally flashed 2x5.11a/b and then went to traverse the whole gym. Very good workout.

Friday Sep 4, 2015 #

Climbing 2:00:00 [4]

Climbed with david. Warmed up then flashed 4-5 5.11-.

Thursday Sep 3, 2015 #

Climbing 2:30:00 [3]

Went climbing with Tyson. Boulder and got 2 C5's, then went on ropes and flashed a stemmy 5.11d. Failed on another 5.11d. And got a 5. 12a with only two falls (would have been one if my foot didn't slip.,

Wednesday Sep 2, 2015 #

Forest Orienteering 36:00 [4] 6.0 km (6:00 / km)

Ran on the newly updated River park map, kind of sad, not much was new on it.

Tuesday Sep 1, 2015 #

Climbing 4:00:00 [5]

First session was alone at Chinook. There I bouldered about 5 C5's and a number of C4s with 15min breaks between each attempt over the course of 2hrs. (8ish attempts)

Next I went to stronghold with Kyle for 3 hours, where I climbed less than half of the time but, because we were going at a fast pace we got alot done. We sent about 10x5.10+ and then onsighted (TR) a 5.11a on vert, and then got up 76% of the way on another 5.11-.
